Disorder induced statistical effects

Presence of disorder in materials leads to various interesting statistical effects such as strength-size scaling, crack surface roughness, plastic strain avalanches, acoustic emission activity, etc. Our goal in this investigation is to develop models of such disordered systems that can capture such experimentally observed statistical effects.
